First Visit

Welcome! We enjoy meeting new patients and we’re delighted that you’ve come to discuss your family’s orthodontic treatment with us. We realize that many people have different needs and expectations regarding orthodontic treatment. That’s why we’ve set aside special time during your first visit to meet with you and discuss your concerns. When you arrive you will be asked to complete a brief questionnaire/ health history form. One of our staff members will then take x-rays and photographs. These are essential in order for the doctor to make a complete diagnosis and treatment recommendations. Dr. Carroll and Dr. Sutton will then perform a thorough examination.

During the initial appointment for each patient, we will address the following questions that cover the basics of orthodontic treatment. We encourage you to ask questions as well.

Can you or your child benefit from treatment?
Is treatment needed now or should treatment be delayed until appropriate growth, tooth eruption or other factors have occurred?
What treatment procedures will be used to correct the problem?
Do any permanent teeth need to be removed?
How long will treatment take?
How much will it cost?
What are my payment options?

We insist that our patients leave the office with a clear understanding of their specific needs, what the treatment will consist of and how long it will take. Also, we will answer any additional questions.

If you have orthodontic insurance, bring your insurance card. By providing this information at the first visit, we will be able to give you an estimate of your costs.
